Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing goalieip.com or purchasing any Goalie IP service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, you may not use this site or our services.
2. Services description
Goalie IP provides intellectual property monitoring, analysis, and enforcement assistance services provided by licensed attorneys. Services are described on our pricing and services pages and in your engagement agreement. The subscriptions available for purchase through the website are for monitoring only. Goalie IP Inc. will not take action to enforce IP rights unless that service is separately negotiated by the customer and Goalie IP. In addition to attorney-supervised monitoring services, Goalie IP also offers programmatic access to publicly available USPTO trademark data through its Trademark Database API. API access is a data product, not a legal service; API use terms are set forth in Section 6 below.
3. User responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information and not to submit false infringement claims. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to request enforcement action on the intellectual property you submit for monitoring.
Misuse of legal enforcement tools for anti-competitive purposes or harassment is prohibited and may result in termination of your engagement.
API subscribers are responsible for keeping their API keys confidential and for all usage that occurs under their credentials. You may not share, resell, or redistribute API access or the data returned by the API without the express written consent of Goalie IP Inc.
4. Intellectual property
All content on goalieip.com is owned by Goalie IP Inc. and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or distribute site content without written permission. Trademark data returned by the API is sourced from publicly available USPTO records and is not owned by Goalie IP Inc. Your subscription grants a limited, non-transferable right to query that data within the usage limits of your plan.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
Services are provided "as is." We do not warrant that monitoring will detect all infringements or that enforcement actions will achieve any particular outcome. Trademark data returned through the API is sourced from public USPTO records and is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Goalie IP Inc. is not responsible for errors or omissions in the underlying USPTO data.
6. API access terms
The Goalie IP Trademark Database API provides programmatic access to publicly available USPTO trademark records. Access is granted on a subscription basis and is subject to the usage limits of your selected plan. API access does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not constitute legal advice.
Permitted use: You may use API data for internal business purposes, application development, research, and client-facing tools you build and maintain. You may display individual trademark records to your own end users provided you do not represent the data as your own proprietary database.
Prohibited use: You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw API data as a standalone data product. You may not attempt to circumvent rate limits, scrape data beyond your plan quota, or use automated means to extract the full dataset. You may not use API data to train machine learning models for commercial redistribution without written permission.
API key security: Your API key is tied to your account and may not be shared. Goalie IP Inc. reserves the right to revoke keys that are used in violation of these terms or that show signs of unauthorized access.
Service availability: Goalie IP Inc. does not guarantee uninterrupted API availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue API access with reasonable notice.
No legal opinion: Results returned by the API reflect raw USPTO record data only. They do not constitute a legal opinion on trademark conflicts, likelihood of confusion, validity, enforceability, or any other legal question. Consult a qualified attorney before making decisions based on trademark search results.
7. Changes to terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
